PLATTEVILLE, CO – A tragic crash in Platteville early Sunday claimed the life of a young child and critically injured multiple adults, according to Denver 7.
The collision occurred around 1:17 a.m. when an SUV carrying 10 people turned in front of the semi on Highway 85 near Justin Avenue.
First responders from the Platteville Police Department and Platteville Gilcrest Fire Protection District rescued a trapped individual from the SUV.
In total, nine people were injured as a result of the crash. One of whom, a young child, suffered fatal injuries as a result.
The driver of the semi was treated for minor injuries and released from the scene.
