DENVER, CO – According to an update from The Denver Post, it was a 22-year-old man who was killed in a rollover crash at South Platte River on Sunday.

Adams County Fire Rescue determined that the 22-year-old man was speeding while driving on East 58th Avenue. Officials said the male driver lost control of his red Honda CR-V, which caused it to overturn and crash into the river.

Bystanders saw what unfolded and rushed to help rescue the man prior to the first responders’ arrival.

EMS crews transported the man to a hospital, where he later died.

Colorado State Patrol said the man was the sole occupant of his vehicle. The Adams County Coroner’s Office will release his identity once his family is notified of his passing.

The general public is asked to contact officials at the phone number listed in the original source if they have more information about the crash.
