News Update: Hit-and-run suspect arrested after fatal crash along MSU Denver

DENVER, CO – Denver police arrested a hit-and-run driver they suspect was responsible for a fatal crash that happened along MSU Denver Saturday.

According to an update provided on X, Denver police identified the suspect as 29-year-old Jeffery Alvarez. Alvarez was responsible for causing a collision at the North Speer Boulevard and I-25 North off-ramp. Two people had to go to the hospital. There, one person died from their injuries and another received treatment for unspecified injuries.

As of this writing, Alvarez is “being held for Investigation of Vehicular Homicide and Investigation of Leaving the Scene of an Accident Involving Death.”

The Denver District Attorney’s Office is working to determine the final charges.

Officials have not released the deceased victim’s identity.
