GOLDEN, CO – The Golden Police Department confirmed on Tuesday that it was Officer Evan Dunn who passed away in a crash at CO 58 and Washington Ave. last Wednesday, Nov. 6.

At the time of this crash, Dunn was with another officer who was responding to a separate crash. As Dunn and the unnamed officer were responding to the scene, another driver, who Aurora Police suspect was impaired, had struck the officers, causing one of them to be pinned underneath their patrol car. It is unclear whether Dunn or the other officer was pinned. However, what is known is that the impact of this wreck led Dunn to fatal wounds a short time later and the other officer to suffer serious injuries.

A private funeral service for Dunn was held on Wednesday, Nov. 13, at Mission Hills Church.
