AURORA, CO – A semi-truck rammed into a pole, causing the eggs on board to spill onto the road and leaving its driver with minor injuries Monday.

Aurora Police told KDVR the collision happened around 12:30 a.m. on I-70. Preliminary details show that the driver swerved to avoid hitting the drivers in front of them and pressed on their brakes. By swerving, the driver had lost control of their truck, which then led to the crash.

EMS crews rushed to the scene and took the driver to a hospital. Transportation crews issued a several-hour-long shutdown for the clean-up process. By 11 a.m., officials had reopened one lane.

Authorities confirmed the driver was operating a truck owned by Pete & Gary’s, an egg supplier. The company, along with the police, is working to pinpoint the continuing factors of the crash.
