AURORA, CO – Aurora police suspect a driver of a Jeep Renegade was speeding while driving, which resulted in a fatal fiery crash on Monday.

Police told the Denver Gazette that the Jeep driver was traveling north on Airport Boulevard and lost control of their vehicle, which led them to crash into a tree and caused their vehicle to catch fire.

Police responded to the scene after 12:30 a.m. and declared the vehicle occupant, who appeared to be the driver, dead at the scene.

The Arapahoe County Coroner will release the victim’s identity after an autopsy is completed and their family is notified of their passing.
