AURORA, CO – A shooting led to a pursuit conducted by Aurora Police, which then ended in a two-vehicle crash in Denver with some arrests Wednesday.
#APDAlert: Officers in the area of 11th and Jamaica observed shots fired between occupants of two vehicles and engaged in a pursuit with one of the vehicles that ended with a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Pena and Green Valley Ranch in Denver.
The events unfolded when one of the drivers fired some shots at 11th Avenue and Jamaica Street in Aurora. Police were attempting to pull over the individuals who fired the shot. They would not pull over and kept driving before striking a second vehicle at the intersection of Peña Boulevard and Green Valley Ranch.
The suspect and their passenger were arrested. Officers did not release the identities of these two adults. They did say that the driver, however, would face several felony charges and had several felony warrants for active weapons. They also said that the passenger had an outstanding warrant but did not comment on the specifics.
The driver who was struck was not involved in the pursuit and was taken to a hospital for unspecified injuries.
Officers and crews shut down the intersection for the scene clearance process.
