NORTHWEST AURORA, CO – One train passenger was injured and a RTD train conductor was taken to a hospital as a precaution after a crash involving a semi-truck Monday.
The collision occurred before 10 a.m. at the intersection of Sable Boulevard and Smith Road, according to CBS News. The train from the Regional Transportation District’s A Line service was coming from the Denver International Airport and going to Union Station when it collided with the truck.
The impact of the collision caused the truck to separate, and the train conductor and 55 passengers on board had to evacuate. The passengers then had to take a bus to get to their final destination.
The train passenger who was reported to be injured sustained minor injuries, while the truck driver was unharmed.
A portion of the intersection was closed. All lanes have reopened since.
The exact cause of the crash is under investigation.
