DENVER, CO – EMS crews took a pedestrian to a hospital after they were struck by a train while walking in Park Hill Monday.

Denver police said the collision happened before 8 a.m. at the intersection of Smith Road and North Monaco Street. After arriving, officers and crews closed both directions of Monaco to accommodate the scene clearance process. All lanes have reopened since.

The pedestrian is recovering from serious injuries. No criminal charges were formally announced at this time.
