One dead in fiery truck accident in Lincoln County

LINCOLN COUNTY, CO – One person is dead after a fiery collision involving two semi-trucks on Highway 40 in Lincoln County on Thursday morning, CBS News reports.

The accident occurred about 22 miles west of Kit Carson, on the stretch of Highway 40/U.S. 287 between Limon and Aroya just before 1:50 am. Footage of one semi engulfed in flames was shared with CBS News.

As of publication, the highway is expected to be closed throughout the day as the accident is investigated.
