News: Officials investigate fatal head-on collision on I-76 in Denver

DENVER, CO – Law enforcement is investigating the details behind a fatal head-on collision that happened on I-76 Friday, Denver 7 Traffic reports.

Preliminary details reveal that the crash happened after 11 p.m. when a pickup truck driver crashed head-on into a sedan while driving east on I-76 West. The force of the crash had either pinned or entrapped a pickup truck passenger.

Westminster fire crews extricated the pickup truck passenger and conducted CPR on them. However, despite their best efforts, the passenger died from their injuries at the scene.

EMS crews took the pickup truck driver and one other person to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

Adams County Sheriff’s Office and Colorado State Patrol were among the first responders. The Adams County Coroner’s Office has not publicly identified the victim.
