DENVER, CO – A pedestrian was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver on I-25 along West Alameda Avenue Saturday, according to 9 News.
Denver police said the pedestrian was struck while changing a tire on the shoulder. The pedestrian died a short time later.
Officers and crews had to shut down several of the southbound lanes for many hours to clean up the debris from the hit-and-run crash. During the closures, police redirected traffic off the interstate along the 8th Avenue exit and reopened all lanes around 10:15 a.m.
Police suspect the hit-and-run motorist was operating a black Toyota 4Runner, which sustained severe front-end tire damage.
Anyone who knows the suspect’s whereabouts is asked to contact the police immediately. Anyone who provides information that leads to an arrest may be entitled to a $2,000 reward.
