GOLDEN, CO – Two people were sent to the hospital after a fiery box truck wreck that took place near the I-70 and C-470 connector on Monday.

According to Denver7, the impact of the crash caused the truck to flip over. Moments later, a power pole crashed onto the box truck.

Golden Fire Rescue was able to extinguish the flames, and ambulance crews transported two people to a hospital. The occupants seem to be in stable condition, firefighters noted.

Xcel Energy was called to the scene to inspect the integrity of the power pole. No power outages were reported.

Fire crews were not harmed.

Officials are working to determine how the crash unfolded.
