DENVER, CO – A pedestrian was seriously injured when they were hit by an on-coming vehicle while crossing 17th Street and Champa Street in Union Station Thursday.
Denver police said the collision happened before 12:30 p.m. EMS crews hurried the pedestrian to a hospital, where they are recovering.

Officers temporarily closed 17th Street for the scene clearance and investigation period. During those closures, police told commuters to seek alternative routes. All lanes were officially opened after 5:30 p.m.
Police have not deemed this a hit-and-run or said if the driver would be subjected to criminal charges.
