LOVELAND, CO – Colorado State Patrol arrested a motorcyclist on Tuesday who was responsible for causing a fatal crash that killed a motorcyclist last year in April.
CSP told KDVR that the motorcyclist was identified as 61-year-old Wilson Arikita.
CSP said the collision happened before 1:30 p.m. on April 27, 2025, on Larimer County Road 38E. The incident happened after Arikita, operating a Honda CMX1100, overtook another motorcyclist and missed a curve, which caused him to crash into an eastbound cyclist.
The cyclist, who was on the shoulder, died from his injuries at the scene.
Arikita was rushed to a hospital, where he was treated for serious injuries.
CSP said Arikita is being charged with Vehicular Homicide via Reckless Driving.
