BOULDER, CO – A hit-and-run collision sent a cyclist to a hospital and ended in a man’s arrest last Wednesday, March 26, according to the City of Boulder

The collision happened before 11 a.m. The hit-and-run driver, operating a Ford F150, had run a red light at the intersection of 63rd Street and Spine Road. After racing through the junction, he ran over a cyclist who had the right of way — a green light. Additional preliminary details showed that the cyclist was going east and the driver north.

EMS crews rushed the cyclist to a medical facility for treatment of serious injuries.

Police have found the hit-and-run suspect, who they have identified as 46-year-old Dustin Kelsey from Parker. They booked him into jail. Kelsey faces the following charges: Misdemeanor careless driving causing serious bodily injury to a vulnerable road user, Misdemeanor running a red light, Misdemeanor careless driving causing injury, and Felony leaving the scene of an accident causing serious bodily injury.

Anyone with more information is asked to contact the phone number listed in the city’s press release.
