AURORA, CO – An 18-year-old man driving an Audi sedan was suspected of speeding and running a red light, which led to a deadly collision that killed two people Sunday.

Aurora police told The Denver Post that the three-car crash occurred before 3 a.m. at the intersection of East Alameda Parkway and South Airport Boulevard. That is near the Buckley Space Force Base. Preliminary details reveal that the Audi driver first crashed into the Hyundai.

Police said the Hyundai driver had proceeded through the intersection on a green light while traveling west on Alameda Parkway. After the Audi and Hyundai collided, one of them then struck a Toyota, waiting at a turn lane in the intersection.

The force of the crash killed two Hyundai occupants, a 37-year-old woman and a 15-year-old girl. Police did not specify whether the 37-year-old woman was a driver of the Hyundai or a passenger.

In addition, the impact of the collision left the Audi driver with serious injuries and the Toyota driver with minor injuries.

Police said that the Audi driver was still hospitalized as of Sunday morning. As of this writing, he has not been arrested, and it is unclear if he will face charges.
