Alcohol suspected in fatal wrong-way crash in Brighton

BRIGHTON, CO – Brighton police suspect alcohol was a contributing factor in a fatal wrong-way crash that happened east of Water Tower Park on Tuesday.

Police told Denver 7 Traffic that the collision occurred around 4 a.m. near the intersection of Mount Bierstadt Street and East Bridge Street. There, a 47-year-old man, who was suspected of being impaired, crashed head-on into a second vehicle while driving the wrong way.

The man died from his injuries at the scene, and the driver of the second vehicle was left in serious condition.

The man’s identity will be disclosed after his family is notified of his passing.
