AURORA, CO – Seven people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Mississippi Avenue and Sable Boulevard in Aurora on Monday.

Denver 7 said the two-vehicle collision happened before 8:45 p.m. and left two people with possible serious injuries, two with minor injuries, one with non-life-threatening injuries, and two others with unspecified injuries. Fire crews had to extricate one of the victims trapped in their vehicle.

Upon the extrication’s completion, one ambulance took four people from one vehicle, and another ambulance took three people from the other vehicle to a hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Aurora police launched an investigation and do not suspect speed or impairment played a role in the crash.

Authorities shut down the westbound lanes for the cleanup process and investigation. All lanes have reopened since.
