2 killed in fiery plane crash along Centennial Airport

CENTENNIAL, CO – Two people lost their lives as a result of a fiery plane crash that took place outside of the Centennial Airport on Friday. 

The collision took place before 6:30 a.m. in the area of the 8636th block of Peoria Street, according to 9News. The two occupants of the Beechcraft BE35 lost their lives. 

Fire crews were dispatched to the scene and extinguished the flames, initially threatening a nearby building and generators. Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames before they spread. 

The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are leading the investigation. 

The Douglas County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name pending notification of next of kin.
